This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 6.5 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval #20211005-16.50-A69851-DL. All sessions included in this program offer NAB credit (sessions are marked with an “A” designation).
Ethics content: While NAB does not have a specific standard on ethics credit, sessions with an “AE” designation include ethics content/ethical topics (there are 3 participant hours of sessions available with ethics content/ethical topics during this event [2C; 3C; 4A])
SW • Social Workers
note: LeadingAge Texas is not a CE provider for the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC)*
This program has 6.5 contact hours that the association deems suitable for social workers’ continuing education*.
*As of September 1, 2020, the regulatory authority over social workers transferred from the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners to the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC), The Social Work Board has proposed repealing the requirements that CE providers be formally approved; if this proposed change is adopted, CE providers will not need to be approved by the Board or renew their approval to provide CE hours. Therefore, at this time, LeadingAge Texas is complying with the following proposed rules:
§781.509.Types of Acceptable Continuing Education.
To be acceptable for the purposes of license renewal or satisfaction of disciplinary stipulations the education must be received from a continuing education provider that:
(1) ensures that the education provided is directly related to the practice of social work;
(2) ensures that the individual(s) presenting the information have the necessary experience and knowledge in the topic(s) presented;
(3) verifies attendance of participants and provides participants with a letter, certificate, or transcript that displays the licensee’s name, topic covered, date(s) or academic period course was taken, and hours of credit earned;
(4) provides participants a mechanism for evaluation of each continuing education activity; and
(5) maintains all continuing education records and documentation for at least three years.
Look for the “SW” designation; sessions with an “SWE” designation include ethics content/ethical topics (there are 3 contact hours of sessions available with ethics content/ethical topics during this event)
As of 09.04.20 the following credit types did not reach a “sustainable number of registrants,” thus LeadingAge Texas did not proceed with applying to the corresponding credentialing bodies to offer CE credit:
- Activity Professionals | Upon reaching a sustainable number of registrants seeking AP credit hours, (simply select the option when prompted on your registration form), LeadingAge Texas will submit an application to the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) seeking approval for continuing education.
- Human Resources Professionals | Upon reaching a sustainable number of registrants seeking HR credit hours (simply select the option when prompted on your registration form), will submit an application to The HR Certification Institute (HRCI) seeking approval for this program for recertification credit towards (General HR credit type).
EVALUATIONS & CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE
