What is Health Plan, Inc. (HPI)?

Affordable Health Coverage Designed for LeadingAge Texas Members

Health Plan, Inc. (HPI) is the 501(c)(9) nonprofit, self-funded Association-Sponsored Health Plan of LeadingAge Texas—serving nonprofit aging services providers across the state.

HPI’s sole purpose is to offer high-quality, affordable health insurance and ancillary benefit options to LeadingAge Texas members and their employees.

Structured as a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA), HPI allows a group of employers to pool resources and share risk—giving members access to better, more affordable health coverage, particularly valuable for small and mid-sized organizations.

Quality, Affordable Choices for You and Your Employees

The program provides members the opportunity to offer health insurance that lowers cost and better fits the needs of LeadingAge Texas Members through unique plan designs, leveraged size, and managed health care spend. While the focus of HPI is a health plan, other employee benefit lines of coverage are available that include group dental, vision, life and AD&D, Disability, and other work site benefits.

The benefits of joining the LeadingAge Texas HPI MEWA include:

  • Ongoing stability for future renewals
  • Larger numbers provides more creditability
  • Broad national network with multiple plan designs to offer your employees
  • Comprehensive ancillary benefits program
  • Ease of administration - enrollment platform established for all groups
  • Access to USI Benefits Resource Center (BRC) to help employees with any benefit needs throughout the year
  • Attract and retain employees

HPI helps LeadingAge Texas members attract and retain great talent—while providing peace of mind for employees and their families.
