Biden Administration Releases New COVID Relief Plan
The incoming Administration released its “American Rescue Plan” for COVID relief. LeadingAge’s response included, in part: “Experience with this pandemic has taught us that the devil is in the details. We look forward to hearing the specifics of how the plan announced tonight will be implemented, but appreciate that it proposes investing real money into solutions. Guidance for Arranging Vaccinations not included in the Federal Pharmacy Partnership
For organizations and populations not able to arrange clinics through the federal LTC Pharmacy Partnership (CVS & Walgreens) including; independent living, affordable housing, and other settings, providers are encouraged to seek a vaccine partner to arrange for vaccinations of employees and those included in Phase 1A and 1B.
1. If you received communication from Walgreens or CVS regarding participation in the LTC Pharmacy Partnership but have been unable to arrange a vaccine clinic contact Walgreens or CVS to confirm.
2. If you are not able to arrange a vaccine clinic through Walgreens or CVS start by contacting a vaccine provider in your area. Visit the Texas COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Locations map to identify vaccine providers that have received vaccine. Contact a provider to request vaccinations under Phase 1A and 1B.
3. Local public health departments are beginning to administer the vaccine. You may contact your local health department to inquire about arranging vaccinations.
If you continue to have difficulty accessing vaccines contact Alyse Meyer at alyse@leadingagetexas.org. DSHS directs all entities that have received COVID-19 vaccines to vaccinate all willing Phase 1A, then Phase 1B, individuals now.
