The Educational Institute on Aging (EIA) is a 501(c)(3) subsidiary foundation of LeadingAge Texas that serves as a forum to promote accessible education opportunities and professional development to LeadingAge Texas members.


Dear Friends,

As a partner to not-for-profit organizations like ours, LeadingAge Texas works tirelessly to stay up-to-date on the most relevant issues confronting the field of Aging Services. In response to some of the current challenges many of us are facing, the LeadingAge Texas team has put together some excellent training opportunities on several very timely topics presented by subject-matter experts. We would like to urge you to look over the list below and then encourage those in your organization who might benefit from the information to register for and attend the various events.

WEBINAR: Operational Strategies for Success Under PDPM (with expert panel)
This webinar will review key operational strategies for successful implementation of the Patient Driven Payment Model through a panel presented by experts in SNF operations and clinical reimbursement. Emphasis of this session will be on processes involving a team approach.

HOT TOPIC SEMINAR: PDPM Preparation
This day-long intensive is designed to ensure attendees are properly prepared and positioned to provide care in a better way under the upcoming Patient Driven Payment Model. Through a deeper understating of the critical elements of the MDS, attendees will learn critical implementation strategies to ensure the ability to capture accurate and audit-proof reimbursement.

WEBINAR: Phase 3: Trauma Informed and Culturally Competent Care
This session will assist SNF providers in understanding the new requirements related to trauma informed & culturally competent care. A review of regulatory requirements regarding trauma informed and culturally competent care with an analysis of the interpretive guidance related to this requirement will be emphasized.

ICD-10 Coding Workshop
The ICD-10-CM and PDPM program will provide instruction in assigning the ICD-10-CM codes to diagnoses using the ICD-10-CM code book, including exercises and scenarios to assure the participants understand how to utilize the ICD-10-CM code book and guidelines.
