The new Requirements of Participation for Nursing Homes represent the greatest change in practice & care delivery since the revised rules of 1991. The final version of the CMS Requirements of Participation was released on October 4, with Phase I of implementation taking effect on November 28, 2016. The rule incorporates significant changes affecting operations across multiple departments in any Medicare facility. What's happening?
Part 5 of the Deep Dive Series focuses on the requirements for the establishment and maintenance of a QAPI program focusing on systems of care, outcomes of care, and quality of life. Implementation of the various provisions of the section span the three phases, beginning in November 2016.
