Governor Abbott and agency officials held a COVID-19 press conference today including an update on visitation in assisted living, nursing homes, and other long term care facilities. Abbott noted the next phase will include "essential caregiver visits"
effective September 24, 2020.
LeadingAge Texas is meeting with HHSC Long-Term Care Regulatory Division this afternoon to discuss further details and guidance for providers. We will send more information to members as it is made available. Families and residents may be informed
that providers are awaiting additional guidance/information from HHSC Texas in order to implement and expand visitation.
