Monday marked the end of the 86th Session. Over 7,000 bills were filed but just over 1,000 have been sent to the Governor. Here’s a list of bills impacting aging services and long-term care that made it over the finish line. As the rule-making and implementation phase begins LeadingAge Texas will provide more comprehensive guidance to members.

We are thrilled to announce that yesterday, May 29, Governor Abbott signed HB 3329 (Assisted Living services) into law! We’d like to thank all LeadingAge Texas members for your involvement this session. Your advocacy makes a difference! As you know, there is always more work to be done. We look forward to continuing our efforts this interim.

In the meantime, don’t hesitate to contact me at alyse@leadingagetexas.org with any questions.
