Our Advocacy Efforts

LeadingAge Texas remains in the front of the public policy issues facing the spectrum of aging. As a member of LeadingAge Texas, you should expect the best in advocacy. We deliver on that promise by working extensively with legislators, legislative staff, developing relationships with media, and engaging our members in grassroots contacts with legislators. In today's political and policy climate, the effects of both state and Federal decisions are often immediate and interconnected.

Aging policy has economic, social, ethical, and practical components. Our team works all aspects of these components to develop a full and complete picture for decision makers. Whether it is working with nursing homes, assisted living, or affordable housing issues, the LeadingAge Texas Public Policy Team is ready to be your advocate and source of information for the rapid changes in the political and public policy realm. Advocacy requires a constant relationship between our professional staff in Austin and LeadingAge Texas members around the state. Our success depends on this relationship. That is why we encourage full membership participation and look forward to having your organization involved in the issues facing the Texas aging population, providers, caregivers, families, and communities.

LeadingAge Texas PAC

The LeadingAge Texas PAC is an important component of the association’s advocacy efforts and will help advance policy priorities that directly impact providers’ ability to continue their mission.
