DAFA ART GALLERY SHOW AT THE POINT
Now through August 26, 2019, Open Daily 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Meet the Artist Reception Monday, August 26, 2019, 6:30 p.m.

The Dallas Area Fiber Artists will feature its 2019 Members Show, themed Planet Fiber, which reflects their commitment to embrace recycling and endorse the effort needed to conserve resources to protect our planet from climate change. Each year, Dallas Area Fiber Artists members have the opportunity to participate in an annual, juried fiber show, which covers a variety of mediums, including mixed media, wearable art, felting, paper and many more. Works from this show will be on view at The Point & Pavilion at CC Young for the month of August. This event is free and open to the public.

Alzheimer’s Association Education Series: Responding to Dementia Behavior
August 14, 2019, 10:30 a.m.

The Alzheimer’s Association and CC Young will feature a continuing education series on Responding to Dementia, specifically the do’s and don'ts for quality communication. This event is free and open to the public.

Healthy Learning Series: Diabetes Awareness
Tuesday, August 27, 2019, 10:00 a.m.

Jeremy Morgan, RehabCare Program Director, will present a Healthy Learning Series on Diabetes Awareness. This event is free and open to the public.

SPCA LOW COST, WALK-IN MOBILE WELLNESS EVENT
Friday, August 30, 2019, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CC Young and The SPCA of Texas will hold a low-cost, walk-in pet vaccination clinic at The Point & Pavilion CC Young. This is an easy and affordable way for the community to help curb the spread of common and highly contagious illnesses in pets. Vaccinations will be $10 each for Rabies, $15 for Bordetella and $12 each for FVRCP and Distemper Combo for dogs and cats. Pet owners can also have pets microchipped for $15 each. Additionally, pets can be tested for heartworms for $25, and heartworm preventive will be available for $5/dose and flea preventative for $12/dose. No appointment is required, and clients will be seen on a first come, first served basis.
