Media Training for When It Happens to You

It's not a question of if, but when you will face a crisis in your organization. Are you ready? This seminar provides both high-level and practical training presented by three public relations professionals with a combined 75 years of real-world experience. The principles and recommendations you’ll learn have been tried in real-life situations.

The session includes principles and tips for crisis communications, along with media training you can use every day and an opportunity to be on camera and practice what you learn.

MEET YOUR PRESENTERS

Scott Collins serves as Vice President of Communications for Buckner International, a position he has held for 25 years. His work at Buckner includes implementing a broad range of public relations and marketing strategies and techniques.

He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including being named PR Pro of the Year in 2019 by the Dallas Chapter of Public Relations Society of America.

In addition, the Buckner Communications team was named the PR Team of the Year in 2019 and also won the American Marketing Association’s DFW Chapter Marketing Team of the year.

 

 

 

Russ Dilday is the Associate Vice President for Public Relations for Buckner International.A 20-year member of the Buckner Communications staff, he leads the content and creative team in producing digital, print and video assets for the organization.

Russ has received numerous awards for feature and opinion writing, photography and video production.

 

 

 

 


Christopher Ruth is the Director of Media Relations for Buckner International. In the role, he oversees all news media outreach for Buckner International, Buckner Children and Family Services, and Buckner Retirement Services in order to ensure the messaging and stories told by the news media are accurate and present the organization and its staff and clients in the best light.

Chris works with all Buckner spokespeople to ensure they are media trained and feel confident when it comes to representing Buckner to local and national media.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Administrators: LeadingAge Texas is applying to have this program approved for Continuing Education for 4.25 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS.

Cancellation & Substitution Allowance

  • Substitutions may be made at any time for persons unable to attend. Substitution requests must be submitted via email to Dorothy Ferrick, Events & Member Engagement Manager at LeadingAge Texas, no later than 48 hours prior to the conference.
  • Cancellations received on or before March 6, 2020 will be refunded the full price of registration less a $25 fee. Cancellations received after March 6 will be refunded 50% of the registration price. No refunds will be provided for cancellations after March 19, 2020. A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks.
