Medicare University Workshop

Join us July 17-19 for this 3-day, in-person, training course! Become the Medicare leader in your facility with this comprehensive education program. This in-depth program will help you manage the reimbursement system, navigate audits, avoid risky practices, and stop drowning in confusing and changing regulations.

3-DAY COURSE COVERS:

  • Understand Medicare benefits, eligibility, and the difference between Part A, B, C, and D
  • Share the concepts of SNF skilled services, payment structures, and consolidated billing
  • Define the qualifications and requirements for both Part A and B therapy
  • Understand the Medicare claim review and provider appeal processes
  • Gain confidence in the documentation process
  • Comply with billing requirements and understand the principles of the Beneficiary Notification Initiative


MEET YOUR MASTER TEACHER | Colleen Toebe, RN-MSN CWCN RAC-MT

Ms. Toebe’s experience includes critical care, long-term care, assisted living and home care. Colleen’s positions include Director of Nursing, Staff Development, Quality Improvement Coordinator, Infection Control, Employee Health, Medicare, and MDS coordinator. She aspires to promote quality of care and has a Six Sigma Green Belt in Health Care. In addition, Colleen is a MDS and Medicare Master Trainer for the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators. In Ms. Toebe’s role as a Nurse Consultant with Pathway Health Services, she has excelled in her performance in interim leadership roles in long-term care and assisted living, developed educational programs, and served as a National Clinical Reimbursement Specialist. Colleen’s passion is to promote excellence in long-term care through education, mentoring, and ongoing quality improvement.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Registrations are fully transferable. Transfers must be submitted via email to dorothy@leadingagetexas.org no later than 48 hours prior to the conference. Cancellations received on or before June 19, 2018 will be refunded the full price of the registration minus a $50 fee. Cancellations after June 19, will be refunded 50% of the registration price. No refunds will be provided after July 5, 2018. A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Nursing Continuing Education Hours
The American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN*) is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The Medicare University 3-day workshop is approved for 22.5 CEs.

Nursing Home Administrators & Assisted Living Managers
AAPACN* works in conjunction with the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) to provide nursing home administrators with continuing education credit for any AANAC workshop attended.
*The American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN) is the parent organization to AANAC.


Completion Requirements
CEs for the three-day workshop are based upon actual classroom attendance for the duration of the scheduled educational activity verified through sign-in sheets. If a student must leave before the activity is schedule to end or is late arriving, he/she will not receive full CE credit. Partial credit may be awarded. Each attendee, based on sign-in sheets/attendance, will receive the CE certificate upon completion of the education activity. The final certification exams are not a requirement for claiming a CE certification for the workshop.

LOCATION & ACCOMMODATIONS

The 3-day certification course will be held at Buckner Villas in Austin, TX. Light refreshments will be served, however lunch is not included in the registration fee.
