TELL ME MORE

Long-term care practice standards for infection control prevention and control must address the changing needs in meeting the CDC’s standards. Antibiotic Stewardship is driving the change for accountability of staff in long-term care to manage antibiotic therapy responsibly, as identified by CMS and the CDC guidelines. Increasingly older adults are admitted to the nursing home with a number of co-morbidities, weakened immunity, significant health issues that compromise their physical health and well-being in a number of ways. More frequent issues are seen associated with acquired health-associated infections (HAIs) in transition from hospital to nursing home admissions.

Join us in New Braunfels for an in-depth day of training on:

  • Section 1: Discuss Objectives of Infection Prevention and Control in a Long-Term Care Setting (Nursing Home)
  • Section 2: Define Antibiotic Stewardship-Ordering, Tracking, Monitoring, And Evaluating Antibiotic Use & Outcomes
  • Section 3: Day-to Day-Facility Infection Control Practices
  • Section 4: Influenza-Immunizations
  • Section 5: Environmental-Linen-Biohazard Waste Storage-Disposal

In addition, the most recent CMS regulatory updates for Final Rule Phases I-III will be discussed based on CDC guidelines.
