2020 ANNUAL CONFERENCE & SOLUTIONS EXPO: UPDATE
Rescheduled Dates TBD

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact on our members and the older adults they serve, the LeadingAge Texas Board of Directors, in full support of myself and my staff, has made the decision to reschedule our 2020 Annual Conference & Solutions EXPO (originally slated for May 17-20, 2020).

My staff and I look forward to our association coming together in the fall for an alternative educational and networking conference experience; please stay tuned for details as they become available.

To everyone who has been involved in the planning of our conference—our partners and sponsorsexhibitors, and speakers—the Board of Directors, my staff, and I sincerely thank you for your contributions and we look forward to working with you to ensure our fall conference is a success!

What’s Next?

Conference attendees, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors will be contacted within the coming days with further information. Updates will be published at www.leadingagetexas.org/conference as they become available.

We are excited to offer a live virtual session on May 21 featuring our conference closing session speaker Karith Foster who will present on “Pivoting to Your Purpose,” a timely topic for how the field of aging services is in the midst of transition. This program is complimentary for all association members.

COVID-19 Updates & Resources:

LeadingAge Texas, along with LeadingAge national, will continue to prioritize sharing timely, relevant information to help you respond to COVID-19. Please be sure to check the LeadingAge Texas COVID-19 resources page and the LeadingAge national COVID-19 resources page for further updates in all areas, and submit any questions you have here.

My staff and I applaud you for all your heroic efforts during this COVID-19 crisis.

Stay strong,

George Linial, CAE, CASP

Virtual Session Coming in September
Adam White will present a virtual session this September to help us build momentum and excitement as we plan to finally gather together in the fall! More details coming soon!

Annual Conference Opening Keynote: "Purpose Driven: We Do It Better When We Do It Together"
Our purpose drives our passion, our performance, and our results in both our personal and professional lives; thus finding the purpose in our lives and the work we do together is the single most important discovery. In this powerful program, leadership speaker & human potential expert, Adam White, will teach us how to reconnect with ourselves, understand our purpose, and develop our leadership ability (both internally and professionally)."

KARITH FOSTER

Virtual Session on May 21: "Pivoting to Your Purpose"
Make plans to join us virtually on May 21 at 1 pm as Karith Foster presents on “Pivoting to Our Purpose,” a timely topic as our field of aging services is in the midst of transition. This engaging and uplifting program is complimentary for all association members. More details coming soon!

Annual Conference Closing Keynote: "Together: A Mind Shift of Unity Over Division"
This keynote is uniquely designed to educate and cultivate a sincere comprehension of the intersection of modern-day diversity, but with the focus on INVERSITY(TM) - inclusion, and introspection.
Karith Foster, professional comedian & speaker, uses the perfect blend of humor, interactive audience participation and heartfelt personal stories to engage her audience and shed light on taboo and sensitive subjects that include but are not limited to racism, sexism, LGBTQIA issues, classism even size-ism and the many other predispositions that fall into the realm of unconscious bias. This high-energy presentation prompts people to not just think about how we view the world and ourselves, but how to actively promote positive change together.
