About the Contest

What is ArtsInspire™?

ArtsInspire™ encapsulates the idea that whether one continues a lifelong passion or pursues a new hobby later in life, the arts inspire ageless creativity!

ArtsInspire is a contest that showcases the artistic talents of older Texans from retirement communities across the state. We hold an annual exhibit taking place in May in conjunction with Older Americans Month and the LeadingAge Texas Annual Meeting. LeadingAge Texas receives over 200 entries every year that are judged by experts in the field such as university professors, artists, authors, etc. The judges are always impressed with the quality of work submitted and the expression displayed through various medias. ArtsInspire is a core program of LeadingAge Texas—2017 will mark the contest's 27th year—and we at LeadingAge Texas believe that this project is one of the most positive tools we can utilize to highlight the positives of the aging process as it educates the public on the value of the creativity expressed by older Texans!
