  • Meet the Artist Reception: Abstract Artist Brett Dyer
    WHEN: Thursday, January 4, 2018, 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    Join us at The Point at C. C. Young to mix and mingle with abstract artist Brett Dyer. Brett’s exhibit, “Spiritual Vessels” will be on display in the Art Gallery at C. C. Young through January 26, so stop in to get your take on his and work and stay to meet the artist himself! The Art Gallery is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the general public.


  • Ranking the Best & Worst Presidents

    The University at C. C. Young presents Mike Noble, Professor of History at Eastfield College, “Ranking the Best & Worst Presidents.” There has never been a better time to get educated and also voice your opinion. Join us in The Point at C. C. Young as we take it back to school with Professor Noble and see what we can learn! This event is free and open to the general public. Seating is limited.   • Laugh Therapy for Health: Happiness & Fun with Kato Crow
    Friday, January 19, 2018, 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    Laugh for good health in the new year. Learn how laughing can be an easy and natural way to find true happiness, fun and joy in your life. This event is free and open to the general public.


  • Is Using The Telephone A Problem For You?
    Monday, January 22, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
    The Deaf Action Center will present at The Point at C. C. Young to help and educate those who may have trouble with telephone usage. At the session, you will learn about the free program the State of Texas offers that helps you obtain a special phone if you are a Texas resident who has difficulty with mobility, hearing, vision or speech. This event is free and open to the general public.


  • Money Smart For Older Adults
    Every Thursday from January 25 to February 15, 2018, 10:00 a.m.
    This week is the first of a five week series of classes that is specifically for adults age 50 or better or their caregiver. The classes will be held Thursdays at The Point at C. C. Young and cover many common scams and financial topics to keep you or a loved one safe from financial disaster. There is a $10 registration fee to cover the cost of materials. The classes are open to the general public, but seating is limited. Register by calling Carl Burlbawa at the Elder Financial Safety Center,
