Addison-based Senior Quality Lifestyles Corporation (SQLC), a nonprofit organization that sponsors and operates life care retirement communities, is pleased to announce several organizational changes which will further its mission to provide five-star hospitality and health care.

Joe Anderson has been appointed president and CEO of the company by the SQLC board of directors. In his new position, Anderson will represent the board to its six communities, including Edgemere (Dallas), The Buckingham (Houston), Querencia at Barton Creek (Austin), Mirador (Corpus Christi), The Stayton at Museum Way (Fort Worth), and The Barrington of Carmel (Indianapolis). In addition, Anderson will oversee Seniority, Inc., the company's wholly-owned management subsidiary, which will perform the day-to-day management for the communities. Anderson continues as chairman of the SQLC Foundation, the company's charitable subsidiary.

Anderson, who has served as chairman of the SQLC board of directors since 2013, has stepped down as board chair but will continue as an ex-officio member.

Scott Collier, who previously served as vice chairman, has been named chairman of the SQLC board. Collier has been on the board since 2014 and is a managing partner of JLL, Dallas.

Bernie Francis has been named vice chairman of the SQLC board. Serving on the board since 2002, Francis is the owner of Business Control Systems and First-Class Caregivers, Inc.

“Our goal at SQLC has always been to provide exceptional services and the highest quality of care for our residents,” said Collier. “The recent acquisition of Seniority will allow us to consolidate all community management functions and attain greater operating efficiency without sacrificing our full range of services to residents. With these changes, Mr. Anderson becomes the sole full-time employee of the SQLC corporate office. His primary function in this position is to represent the SQLC board of directors to Seniority, our management company. His years of experience as a manager in the senior housing business will serve the interests of all our stakeholders: residents, board members, team members, bondholders, as well as vendors and partners.”

SQLC purchased Seniority, Inc., a leader in senior housing marketing and sales services, senior living management and development consulting, earlier this year. SQLC is a leader in the nonprofit senior housing business. The company owns six life care communities, including Edgemere (Dallas), The Buckingham (Houston), Querencia at Barton Creek (Austin), Mirador (Corpus Christi), The Stayton at Museum Way (Fort Worth), and The Barrington of Carmel (Indianapolis). The acquisition of Seniority included third party management contracts of assisted living/memory support communities in California and Oklahoma as well as several additional sites under development.
