ABOUT THE SUMMIT

Remember marketing your community before websites came along? Remember when you couldn't check work email from home? And remember when employees stayed at the company just because they would get a paycheck? Those days are long gone! Business has changed, long-term care has changed, and so have the expectations of your employees. As the economy improves, more job opportunities exist, which means the power has shifted from employers to employees, and successful companies must intentionally create organizational cultures where people want to work in order to attract and retain talent.

A critical factor creating more challenges in the workplace is the widening generation gaps. Millennials (workers under 36) are now the largest generational cohort in the workforce and they'll outnumber the Boomers and GenXers combined by 2020. In this program, Leah Brown, Talent Retention Strategist for Crescendo Strategies, will explain the evolution of employee expectations over time and how great leaders are adjusting their management styles to improve employee retention. And while you may have heard other generational presentations, Leah's unique stories about the real issues on the T.A.B.L.E. (technology, authority, balance, loyalty and entitlement) fuel an eye-opening discussion about which traditional business principles and definitions may need a revamp in today's changing workplace. This program is a must for organizations that need to retain the talent they can no longer afford to lose.

By the time you leave this full-day workshop, sponsored by Morrison Community Living, you’ll discover the true cost of employee turnover, know how to assess your brand as an employer, and walk away with realistic plans for improving your workforce woes in any department.

Session topics include:

  • Leading the New Workforce
  • The Cost of Unnecessary Turnover
  • Millennial Mindset
  • New Hire Strategies & Retention Best Practices
  • Facilitated Discussion on Priorities & Action Planning
  • Tomorrow's Success
