Call for Proposals: 2018 Annual Conference

For Submitting a CFP:

  • September 1 at 12:00 noon CDT - Deadline for Proposal Submissions
  • Early November - LeadingAge Texas will contact all who submitted proposals with notifications of acceptance or regrets

For Those Chosen to Present:

  • March 2, 2018 - Preliminary version of the presentation are due by this date
  • April 6, 2018 - Any & all handouts must be submitted by this date


LeadingAge Texas requests presentations that enable participants to share with and learn from one another. Presentations should incorporate engaging educational methods, provide take-home resources where practical, and demonstrate measurable outcomes. Submissions will be reviewed to develop a high-quality, well-balanced, and interactive education program. Standard breakout session length is 1.5 hours. Keynotes and breakfast sessions are 1 hour. The Conference Intensive is 2-3 hours in length.

What Are We Looking For?
LeadingAge Texas review committees will consider submissions based on the following criteria:

  • Well-defined session content
  • Timeliness and relevance of topic to the field of aging services
  • Practical applicability of concepts for the intended audience
  • Overall quality and innovation of session content and educational methods that enable an engaging learning environment
  • Qualifications, expertise, and experience levels of presenters
  • Topics including an ethics component are particularly encouraged

  • Aging Services Operations
    Targeting operations professionals, and encompassing general aging services topics
  • Funding & Development
    Targeting CFOs, development professionals, and other finance-oriented disciplines
  • Leadership & Management
    Targeting upper-level management
  • Quality of Care
    Targeting nurses, medical officers, and other clinically-focused disciplines
  • Quality of Life & Enrichment
    Targeting social workers, activity professionals, and encompassing wellness topics
  • Marketing & Community Relations
    Targeting marketing, sales, and PR professionals
  • Senior Living Innovations
    Targeting new developments, technologies, and methodologies in aging services
  • Talent Development & Professional Growth
    Targeting HR and those involved in the hiring process
  • Keynote Addresses at Opening or Closing General Sessions
    Targeting all conference attendees - including substantive, aging services-specific topics for the Opening General Session, and a motivational for the Closing General Session

Information You'll Need to Complete the CFP
The form will require you to provide the following information:

  • Session title
  • Purpose statement (1 sentence)
  • Session summary ( >100 words, suitable for inclusion in publicity materials)
  • 3 learning objectives & accompanying content/topics
  • A/V requirements
  • Presenter(s) contact & biographical information
